well, internet is down, but i still have juice, so it's about 9:13, waiting for chris to get back and finish cleaning up.
everything i'm keeping is either in the car, at bruce's derek's, or karl's. my car is a bit fuller than i want it to be, but i'm ready to be there for a month.
all i have left is to pack up the laptop, put it in the car, and move the chair and desk out to the tree lawn, turn in the key and we're out.
while there's naturally the kind of thing you expect with having to move out with nowhere to go, there's a sense of relief that everything's out before the deadline.
i left some stuff behind though:
- my volleyball signed by all my team members.
- souvenirs from my drive across the US, trip to france, trip to boston, etc. etc.
- college bowl trips;
those things were so long ago, it's like they happened to another person. and even if i kept these things, they remind me of no one.
i was going to hold out until midnight and keep journalling here since the internet is out, but i might pull out a cigar and smoke while watching the traffic go by on the bridge.
it's going to hard to go without internet/electricity. i really am hoping the starbucks in vons near roosevelt will be available. either that or the one in eagle rock with the outdoor seating with outlets.
i guess i'll check the one on sierra madre tomorrow since i have the fan to drop off.
i have plenty of time to think of how to respond to my sister. but trying to praise her feels too much like enabling.
hey! i can go outside and plug into the patio outlet and use this chair. yay. it'd be nice to get some internet but you take what you can get.
i thought ahead and downloaded some unread ebooks to my local drive so i have things to read - as long as i have juice. but if i have juice, i'm likely to have wifi.
